Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Hayashi is one of the key leaders in asymmetric organocatalysis since the early 2000s. His most important contribution has been the development of a general and versatile silyl ether in 2005. This catalyst is arguably the most frequently and successfully used aminocatalyst. For example, dozens of academic natural product syntheses use this catalyst, and it is also employed by the pharmaceutical industry for various reactions. The collaborative research in Germany will focus on combining Hayashi-style aminocatalysis with silylium based Lewis acid catalysis to enable unusual reactivity.
